CareStreet Story

Jerry Pullins embarked on his journey in senior living with Hospice Care of Kansas, rapidly becoming a respected name for families seeking advice in the world of senior living. Jerry was soon sought out for recommendations in nearly every facet that touched a senior’s life – from meal delivery recommendations to the most considerate funeral providers. As the number of requests flooded in, Jerry realized that he could no longer personally assist every inquiry alone. Hence, he was inspired to form a team that could offer assistance for nearly every request touching seniors in Kansas City – leading to the birth of CareStreet in 2022.

CareStreet was founded by three experienced and passionate senior living experts: Jerry Pullins, Jamie Graham, and Matthew White. CareStreet was realized to bring the collective wisdom to families in search of the best solutions for seniors, with its leaders having operated a group of residential care homes focused on Alzheimer’s care and having held leadership positions at larger corporate senior living companies, facilities and hospices. The team is well-equipped to tackle any challenge that may arise in the world of senior living in Overland Park and Kansas City, KS with a mission to provide families with the most personalized guidance and advocacy found in the city.

CareStreet takes advantage of a diverse network of senior living organizations, facilities, providers, and partners, which is constantly evolving in real time. Local nurses, social workers, and seasoned senior living veterans serve as senior advisors – our Senior Guides – leading each family on a personalized journey towards finding the absolute best and most suitable solution for their loved ones.

About Jerry

My career began at Newcomer Funeral Homes, after which I ventured into the hospice and healthcare fields. However, it wasn't until my grandmother's experience with dementia in Council Grove, KS, that I realized the need for a more personal approach to senior care in Kansas City. As she was shuffled between nursing homes, skilled care facilities, and hospitals, I was determined to build a better way to provide care.

I founded SeniorCare Homes in 2007, determined to offer a more personalized approach to care that larger, corporate facilities couldn't provide. By cultivating deep relationships with our residents, families, and staff, we have been able to bring our dream of providing the best care in the city to life, successfully creating a smaller senior living option that offers families access to one of the most innovative care options in the country.

With over two decades of experience in healthcare, I remain committed to senior living and end-of-life care. Recently, we expanded our services to provide senior living advocacy and support to families through our sister company, CareStreet, which was established in 2022. Our goal in running these two organizations in parallel is to share our years of expertise and industry know-how with as many families as possible.

To me, there is no greater honor than helping someone during the "last chapter" of life. My life's work is to innovate organizations and grow people who share this passion for changing lives. In Kansas City, we have a wonderful opportunity to live, work, and thoughtfully disrupt the world of senior living, one person at a time.

About Matthew

Since a young age, my passion has always been caring for others. As a student at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, I realized that my passion lied in serving the community. I began my career in healthcare after graduating, first at Boston Children’s Hospital in various departments, seeking to enhance the experience of care for children and their families in New England.

As I gained broader experience in project management, I moved into managing large-scale redevelopment projects in the hospitality industry across the US. This experience taught me the importance of hospitality in providing excellent service to others, which carried over into my desire to return to healthcare.

Upon returning to Kansas City, I joined John Knox Village, one of the most historically renowned single-site providers of senior living in the Midwest, overseeing the operations and redevelopment of the aging and challenged community. It was there that I discovered my passion for providing seniors with the best possible care and experience during their golden years.

In 2019, I became the President of SeniorCare Homes and later became a partner in 2020, where I have dedicated myself to creating personalized experiences for each resident and their family. Our work at SeniorCare Homes has grown exponentially, leading us to create CareStreet to help as many families as possible by sharing our expertise in the senior living industry.

At CareStreet, I employe the Jesuit philosophy of Cura Personalis - Latin for ‘care for the whole person.’ We don't just place families at a facility; instead we offer a helping hand in finding them a new chapter, including a new home that caters to their specific desires and care needs, but also takes into account the parts of their lives that make them feel comforted, engaged, or inspired.

Our team of experts is in and out of facilities every day, providing families with advice and the best possible options for their loved ones with real time knowledge and relationships throughout the city. We are passionate about serving our community and matching seniors with the best possible care available – and that's what truly sets CareStreet apart.
